  • $50,000 to work on designing, piloting, and refining your concept

  • Introductions to mentors, experts, and potential sources of follow-on-funding

Criteria & FAQ

  • The Fund to Prevent Sexual Assault is the first philanthropic fund focused entirely on preventing sexual assault at scale. We’re survivor-led and on a mission to reduce rates of sexual assault in the U.S. by 70% by 2050. We fund creative solutions, support bold experimentation, and generate the research needed to identify and scale what works. By combining innovation with evidence, we’re building the pipeline for the next generation of prevention interventions.

  • Your idea must:

    • Use technology or social media to reach youth directly

    • Be designed to prevent high-school-aged youth (ages 14-18) from raping youth who are also that age

      • Can target first-time and/or repeat perpetration

    • Reach youth who are at high risk of perpetration or who have already perpetrated

    • Target youth in the United States

      • Funding can be used to adapt proven or promising interventions from other countries for use in the U.S.

    • Reach youth when they are ages 11-18

      • Does not need to include the entire age range

    • Be able to launch by the end of April 2026, if it hasn’t launched already

    You / your team must:

    • Be able to dedicate at least 20 hours a week on your concept for the length of the incubator

    • Be eager to test the impact of your solution

    • Be able to be funded via a registered U.S. 501(c)3 or international charity

      • If you’re accepted, we can introduce you to potential fiscal sponsors

  • To help focus this round of funding, we are not looking for:

    • Solutions targeted only at sexual abuse committed digitally or remotely; this open call is focused on contact sexual assault and rape

    • Sexual violence survivor support services, unless targeted at changing the behavior of survivors who are also at high risk of perpetration

    • General programs without a direct tie to sexual assault prevention

    • Research-only projects without a plan to expand beyond research

    • Projects solely based in K–5 education

  • We fund via an incubator model, providing funding and support to a cohort of innovators who are all working on similar solutions.

Each grantee will receive $50,000 over six months, plus hands-on support to help them grow, including:

    • An in-person kick-off (which will be held near San Francisco or New York City)

    • Workshops on topics relevant to the cohort, such as program design, measurement, fundraising, and scaling impact

    • Peer learning and support through a tight cohort of fellow innovators, who will meet monthly over Zoom

    • Personalized coaching to refine their strategy and prepare for evaluation

    • Technical assistance from Fund staff and expert advisors

    • Exposure to potential funders, including during an end-of-incubator Demo Day (we’ll also help with crafting an effective pitch)

By the end of the incubator, grantees are expected to:

    • Have launched their idea to real users

    • Have started to collect usage data

    • Have attended the in-person kick-off event and the in-person final Demo Day

    • Pitch their concept to potential funders and partners
